SAMMY'S GONE

| I had a NYC park bench mate over one summer. He was always there. We shared stories and coffee. A sandwich. Even an ice cream bar. His name was Sammy.
In September I waited nearly a week at our usual spot till I finally heard he had died there sleeping one night. |
