SAMMY'S GONE
|
|
| I had a NYC park bench mate over one summer. He was always
there. We shared stories and coffee. A sandwich. Even an ice cream bar. His
name was Sammy.
In September I waited nearly a week at our usual spot till I
finally heard he had died there sleeping one night.
